Schools & Groups
Schools and groups of all ages and abilities is the core to our business.
It's an area that gives us great satisfaction in watching the excitement and development of children who may have not have even seen the sea, let alone been in a boat!

For both adults and children, the whole process of arriving at our beach location, getting briefed on the upcoming activity, being kitted out with clothing and equipment totally alien to them, taking part in a group sea sport activity is an amazing confident and team building exercise. Possibly even a life changing experience.

Youth involvement
Our RYA training centres are involved with the RYA's OnBoard scheme.
The focus of the OnBoard scheme is to get the local children on to the water with a RYA sailing and windsurfing provider.
The OnBoard programme follows a format of;
  1. Introduction to the sport through taster sessions.
  2. The opportunity to learn, through courses either with their school or as individuals.
  3. Exiting with the opportunity to stay in the sport through our Pirates Sailing Club.
The main aim of the programme is not just to link the children to water sport providers, but to link the schools and teachers. Meaning, as the children move on from the schools, the school link is maintained and more children get the opportunity to try watersports.

Funding
We very much aware of the constraints to schools and parents when it comes to the cost of activities.
Especially when an activity like sailing can be perceived as an elitist sport.
We are keen to break this perception by demonstrating our activities are open to all.
Where groups and schools can access funding, we will assist the obtaining of this in anyway.
As a general rule, we do require a 50% deposit upon your booking confirmation.
However, we will accept a three stage payment agreement to allow for parents to spread the costs before the commencement of any activity.
