Dover Marine Services offer a range of RYA Youth Sailing Scheme courses for young people from the age of 8.

So you achieve the best results from your time with our instructors, all of our group courses are only in a group of 3:1 instructor. Unlike most centres that run courses on 6:1 instructor ratios.
However if you would prefer not to be in a group training session, 1:1 tuition is available upon request @ £40/hr

However, not sure if sailing is for you? - We have regular hourly taster sessions. Try sailing, before splashing out on a full course.
Sailing tasters run from 4 May to 28 September
£30 per person/hr

All of our courses are designed to build your knowledge, skill and confidence whilst ensuring you have a lot of fun both on and off the water.

Learn to Sail Weeks

A slight change in how we used to run learn to sail weeks. You may now choose to complete a whole week in one go, to obtain two RYA Stages 1&2/ 3&4. Or, split the stages in to individual days.

RYA Stages 1 & 2
Choose to do a whole week with us and gain both stages 1&2.
Or, split the the week over a period.

Monday and Tuesday Stage 1
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Stage 2

The course covers; a basic understanding of how a boat sails, with some experience of steering and handling the boat, launching and recovery, steering, parts of the boat, basic sailing.

RYA Stages 3 and 4
Once again, choose to do a whole week with us and gain both stages. Or, split the course in to individual days.
Following on from stage 2, the course covers; rigging, launching and recovery, sailing techniques, capsize recovery, sailing theory, manoeuvres in crewed boats, recovering a man overboard.

RYA Advanced Sailing Week
Our advanced sailing weeks are for those who have reached Stage 4, but want to progress further through the RYA modules.
You may choose to split you week up in to block of 2 or 3 consecutive days over a period of time.
Modules include; Seamanship skills, sailing with Spinnakers and Racing.
